WHAT'S THE WEATHER LIKE
WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING
May in Barcelona offers warm, pleasant spring weather, averaging 55-73 F (13°C–23°C) making it an ideal time to visit before the summer heat and crowds. Days are mostly sunny (10 hours daily) with occasional, short-lived showers.
Evenings are mild to cool, requiring light layers. We recommend a sports coat, jacket or cardigan for the Welcome Dinner and Farewell Party. Photographers and videographers will be at both events; business casual or smart casual dress is recommended.
Other events and activities are more relaxed. As Barcelona is a very walkable city, be sure to pack comfortable shoes, as well as appropriate activewear, hats, and sunglasses for your chosen outdoor activities.

WHEN YOU LEAVE THE HOTEL
-
Leave valuables and important papers, such as jewelry and passports, secured in your hotel’s safe deposit box, not in your room or luggage. Always keep cash, credit cards, and keys with you
-
Make note of your passport number and other important documents. If they become lost, this will facilitate getting replacements with fewer problems
-
Never carry your wallet in your rear pants pocket, front pants or jacket pocket is advisable.
-
Pickpockets usually work in teams of two or three people. Always be aware of possible distractions staged by a pickpocket team. Pickpockets may drop something in front of you, or cause a loud commotion near you, as a distraction. Once distracted, the other pickpocket steals your valuables and walks away
-
Learn about and be aware of your surroundings. Ask the hotel/motel desk clerk, concierge or bell staff about problem area to avoid.
Before departing from your hotel or other destination, plan your routes and clearly understand where you’re going. -
For solo travelers, follow common sense, avoid being alone in dark, deserted areas and poorly lit streets.
TRANSPORTATION
SAFETY TIPS
